{"id":2931,"date":"2014-07-31T15:41:00","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T15:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/businessexcellence.org\/integrating-excellence-assessment-with-strategy\/"},"modified":"2014-07-31T15:41:00","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T15:41:00","slug":"integrating-excellence-assessment-with-strategy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/businessexcellence.org\/integrating-excellence-assessment-with-strategy\/","title":{"rendered":"Integrating Excellence Assessment with Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few years ago, some of the large European organisations that had used the EFQM Excellence model for a number of years to systematically drive improvement wanted to find ways to integrate Business Excellence with their strategy so that it moved from being a \u201cproject\u201d or \u201cprogram\u201d to becoming just a part of how they did business.<\/p>\n<p>Ideas suggested ranged from having incentive bonuses for improving assessment scores to systems of ongoing training. In my mind it was clear. The best \u2013 if not only \u2013 way to successfully achieve the objective was simply to focus on the organization\u2019s results. The way people influence an organization\u2019s results is by acting on the things that enable them (\u201cenablers\u201d in EFQM terminology), one of the central concepts of business excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Once your people realize that the optimal way to manage and improve results is by working on the enablers (the 7 BEX Excellence Framework criteria to the left of results), business excellence becomes integrated with how you do business. To integrate it with strategy formulation, you only need to ensure that the output of Excellence Assessment \u2013 the list of strengths and prioritized areas for improvement \u2013 is available as an input for strategy formulation.<\/p>\n<p><img src=http:\/\/businessexcellence.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Integration-Strategy.png alt= loading=lazy
